The Village Hall will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024, for Labor Day. Please note that due to the holiday garbage and recycling pick up will be delayed one day. It will be picked up on Thursday, September 5th, 2024.

We have had a few reports that the Box Tree Moth has invaded Middleport and killed several Boxwoods. I have attached an information sheet from the U.S. Dept of Agriculture so that you can look for the signs and check your plants.

Roland Johnson – Police Chief

On Monday, July 15, 2024, the Village Board of Trustees promoted Roland D. Johnson to the Police Chief position. Chief Johnson began his career with the Middleport Police Department when he was first hired as a part-time police officer in December 2003. He was promoted to full-time in October 2006, and then to the Sergeant position in September 2012. Congratulations Chief Johnson!

August Monthly Board Meeting – NEW DATE

The Board of Trustees August monthly meeting has been changed from Monday, August 19th, to Thursday, August 15th, at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to Retired Police Chief John Swick

The Village of Middleport would like to thank former Police Chief John Swick on his 46 years of dedicated service to the Village, and the surrounding communities. He will definitely be missed. We want to congratulate him on his much-deserved retirement and wish him well as he begins the next chapter of his life. Retired Police Chief Swick would like to thank all of the community members that took the time to line the streets, send a card, or wish him well on his retirement. It meant more to him than you will ever know.

Middleport Food Pantry

The Middleport Food Pantry is looking for a new location to serve the residents of the Village of Middleport, Town of Royalton, and the Town of Hartland. If you or someone you know has a location that could accommodate the food pantry, please call the Village Hall at 716-735-3303. We will refer all suggestions or offers to the head of the food pantry.

October 2024 Bulk Garbage Pickup

Bulk garbage pickup for October will be on Wednesday, October 16th. As a reminder, Modern will only pick up three items outside of your cart.

Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer

Brian Belson, the Village Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer will not be in the office on Wednesday, July 3rd. He will be checking his emails and phone messages.
