Duties:
Village Code Chapter 20, Article III, §20-7 established a Board of Ethics.
Village Code Chapter 20, Article III,§20-8 indicates the powers and duties as follows:
The Board of Ethics established hereunder shall render advisory opinions to village employees on written request, and upon request of the Village Board, makes recommendation to such Village Board as to any amendments of the Village’s Code of Ethics. The opinions of the Board of Ethics shall be advisory and confidential and in no event shall the identity of the village employee be disclosed except to authorized persons and agencies. Such opinions shall be on the advice of counsel employed by the Board of Ethics, or if not, of the Village Attorney.
Planning Board

Duties:
The Planning Board is an advisory Board to the Board of Trustees. It reviews and makes reports and investigations in connection to the planning and development of the Village.
Tree Board

Duties:
The Tree Board was established per Middleport Code Chapter 178, Trees, §178-1, as follows:
There is hereby established the Tree Board of the Village of Middleport, which shall consist of three members, who are appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval of the Village Board. Members shall serve without compensation, and the Board shall be advisory only. The Board shall perform such duties as conducting tree censuses and generating such reports to the Village Board as it shall deem appropriate from time to time concerning trees in the Village of Middleport.

Zoning Board of Appeals

Duties:
The Zoning Board of Appeals is responsible for two types of appeals: the interpretation of the zoning law and a request for a variance to the zoning law.
