A special meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in the Village Hall. Mayor Westcott opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Also present were Deputy Mayor Conley, Trustee Blumrick, Trustee Hinkson, Trustee McAvoy, Police Chief Swick, and Clerk-Treasurer Schweigert. Coordinator Dodge was absent. Reviewed expenditures as discussed on March 5. Mayor Westcott had questions about several of the line items. Determined that no more cuts will be made at this time. Discussed wages for the 2013-2014 budget year. The following wages were suggested and discussed: Sean Campus, $16/hour Lance Clark, $16/hour Daryl Quinn, $15/hour Jeffrey Swick to stay at $13/hour at the beginning of the budget year, but after 6 months (approximately September 1, 2103), his wage will increase to $14/hour JoAnne Swick, remains at $12.25/hour Jeffrey Waters, $22.50/hour Roland Johnson, $22.50/hour Vicky Demmin, $19.85/hour Barbara Noble, $19.85/hour Shelly Stoddard, $10/hour Brian Belson, remains at $6,000/year Mayor Westcott, $5,800/year Deputy Mayor Conley, $2,700/year Trustee Blumrick, Trustee Hinkson, Trustee McAvoy, $2,500/year each Police Chief John J. Swick, $62,920/year Village Coordinator Daniel A. Dodge, $51, 480/year Clerk-Treasurer Rebecca Schweigert, $41,496/year Wages include annual longevity pay of $500 for over 10 years of service and $750 for over 20 years of service. A motion was made by Trustee McAvoy, and seconded by Trustee Blumrick, to adopt the above listed non-union wages and longevity pay as discussed. Motion carried unanimously. Possible wage increase for union members will be included in budget. Summer swim, recreation, and laborer wages will be discussed when the positions are filled. Discussed tax levy. Clerk Schweigert prepared several variations to discuss. Determined that the Board will consider 15 cents per thousand increase above 2012-2013 tax levy. Clerk Schweigert will calculate the wage increases and the levy at 15 cents more per thousand. Board will revisit tax levy at March 2013 regularly scheduled meeting. There being no other business, a motion was made by Deputy Mayor Conley, and seconded by Trustee Hinkson, to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
