Body:
A special meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Monday, June 23, 2008, in the Village Hall. Mayor Maedl opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Also present were Deputy Mayor Conley, Trustee Bateman, Trustee Sarchia, Trustee Westcott, Village Coordinator Dodge, Police Chief Swick, Clerk-Treasurer Schweigert, and Daniel E. Seaman, Attorney. Trustee Bateman led the Pledge of Allegiance. Also present were: Spiros Antoniadis, of Corporate Properties, LLC Bill Wolcott, Lockport Union-Sun & Journal Mr. Antoniadis presented an update to the Board of Trustees on the economic development plan he has been hired to write. Mr. Antoniadis will meet with the Board at 6:00 p.m. prior to the July 21, 2008 Board meeting to present the final plan. A motion was made by Trustee Bateman, and seconded by Trustee Sarchia, to authorize Mayor Maedl to execute the contract with New York State for the $40,000 economic planning grant secured for the Village by Senator Maziarz. Carried. A motion was a made by Trustee Westcott, and seconded by Deputy Mayor Conley, to authorize Mayor Maedl to execute and submit an application to New York State for the $250,000 canal improvement grant secured for the Village by Senator Maziarz. Carried. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Conley, and seconded by Trustee Bateman, to move into executive session for consultation with the Village’s attorney. Carried. Mayor Maedl opened executive session at 8:10 p.m. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Conley, and seconded by Trustee Bateman, to return to general session. Carried. Mayor Maedl reconvened general session at 8:45 p.m. There being no further business, a motion was made by Trustee Westcott, and seconded by Trustee Sarchia, to adjourn. Carried.
