PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held by the Board of Trustees the Village of Middleport on the 17th day of December 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, 24 Main Street, Middleport, New York, regarding a local law entitled "A Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established by General Municipal Law §3-C," an abstract of which is as follows:
Said Local Law authorizes the Village of Middleport to adopt a budget for the fisca year commencing June 1, 2013, that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the limit specified in General Municipal Law §3-c.
The complete text of said law is on file at the office of the Village Clerk and is available for review by any interested person during business hours.
At such public hearing all persons interested who wish to be heard will be heard.

2-percent Tax Override Local Law
The Board of Trustees intends to override the 2-percent tax cap as imposed by the New York State Legislature. The Board of Trustees has no intention of exceeding the 2-percent limit at this time; however, this action ensures that should that happen, there will be no negative repercussions.
